In the context of misinformation and inaccuracies in reporting, knowledge understanding news production processes conditions are crucial for users’ perceptions content. However, research on perception errors influence corrections individual factors is scarce. two online experiments, we investigated corrections, newspaper type, media literacy error severity frequency. Corrections decreased perceived both studies. News increased political (Study 1) but not sports 2). Further, news-literate users as more frequent. Newspaper type did user perceptions. These results support need transparency importance characteristics – especially when studying journalistic products.
